Modern roofing materials are durable and flexible. Our services include cold-applied liquid and PVC membranes. These aren't as cheap as rubber, bitumen, or felt but will provide long-lasting and attractive finishes. We use only the best materials to make sure your installation is durable and looks good.

NEW FLAT ROOFS

When you’re installing a new flat roof a single layer of waterproofing membrane is used. This is normally made from combinations of manmade materials.

You can choose mechanically fastened or fully bonded roofing solutions. Generally, if your roof structure is timber, a mechanically fastened system is used. For concrete a fully bonded system is probably the best option.

Heat welded joints will provide better results than glued and taped systems. This is because moisture and temperature affect adhesives. Heat gun welds are more consistent and less affected by weather conditions.

ROOF REFURBISHMENTS

Age, movement and a lack of maintenance can all lead to damage. With increasingly extreme weather conditions, it’s important to check regularly for problems.

Visual checks might show obvious damage or water collecting on your flat roof. You might also notice your room feels too cold in winter or warm in summer.
If your flat roof shows signs of failing it’s important to take action quickly. This will help to prevent expensive damage to your property and belongings.

If you’re refurbishing more than half your existing flat roof, the government says you must upgrade the insulation. Roof refurbishment projects are challenging so you’ll want to work with experienced professionals.

FLAT ROOF REPAIR

Flat roofs need repairs from time to time. This might be due to the effects of the weather, structural movements and changes or damage.

If your roof needs repairs we’ll complete them to a high standard and guarantee our work.

On the occasions where the roof has come to the end of its serviceable life and a repair is no longer an option, trust that we will give you the best advice on what can be done to solve any leaks you may have.

Warm Roofs, Cold Roofs and Skylights

As a homeowner it’s helpful to know about the differences between roof types.
Whether you're building a new roof or upgrading an existing one, insulation and energy efficiency contribute to your overall comfort.

WARM ROOFS

Warm roofs are insulated from above the roof substrate. Air and Vapour Control membrane is installed then insulation, either mechanically fixed or fully bonded is installed and then the roofing watterproofing is added above this layer. This is the most common roof installation and is a requirement on most new builds.

COLD ROOFS

Cold roofs are when the waterproofing membrane is installed directly to the roof structure. This is a good option for unhabitable areas like garages etc where there is no need for warmth in the room. Cold roofs can also be used in habitable areas however strict design must be followed to ensure the roof space has adequate air flow and ventilation between the insulation in the joists and the underside of the roof decking, this ensures the risk of condensation is eliminated.

ROOF LANTERNS & SKYLIGHTS

Roof lanterns and skylights make a stunning addition to flat roofs or extensions, providing natural light to the room below. You can choose made to measure roof lanterns or select from the wide range of standard sizes. They are suitable for both new build and refurbishment projects, single storey extensions and orangeries.
